Dealing with Specifics: Before, During and After a Surrogate Pregnancy
Being a surrogate is being a life and miracle provider! However, it’s going to take a significant amount of time, not to mention a very memorable time at that, on the part of the surrogate. This is why it is a critical requirement for a surrogate to not only be physically able, but also emotionally and psychologically as well.
Pre-Fulfillment
Before the surrogacy comes to begin, the couple must first and foremost iron out the matter regarding the surrogate mother pay. Covered in the costs will be the acceptance or hiring fee, the regular pre-natal check-ups and necessary medicines, and of course, the cost for the delivery itself.
THESE COSTS ARE USUALLY PAID BY GC’
The couple should also ensure that the surrogate’s overall health and well-being are cared for and duly attended to. After all, the state of the carrying mother will ultimately affect the health of the baby growing in her womb.
Couple’s Involvement
Your Intended Parents will want to be involved at every step, but also want to appreciate your privacy. Many questions arise as to what extent the couple should be involved in the personal life of the surrogate. Fact of the matter is that the surrogate mother is carrying the couple’s child. What happens to the surrogate mother, therefore, essentially becomes the couple’s business as well, precisely because their interest is in the child growing in the surrogate’s womb.
The involvement, however, should end where the welfare of the baby does, too. It must be made clear that the surrogate mother should still be treated as an individual, able to deal with her own personal matters outside of her task of carrying the couple’s child. It must be stressed, though, that the safety of the baby must be guaranteed at all times—because pregnancy is a 24/7 job.
